Depending on the relevance for global trade and maritime communication, the selected chokepoints were categorized in primary and secondary chokepoints. Primary chokepoints gained two points, secondary one point. Hover over the map for more information. The complete dataset of controlled choke points is included in the 2024 version of the BPSM.
