Publicly Funded Child Care Setting With the Largest Share of Enrollment, October 2024
This heat map shows the publicly funded child care setting with the largest share of enrollment for October 2024. In half of all counties, licensed family child care homes were the child care setting with the largest share of children enrolled in October 2024. Colusa, Glenn, Monterey, Plumas, and Santa Cruz Counties all had more than 70% of children receiving publicly funded child care in an LFCH setting. In the heat map, counties with the largest share of children enrolled in a LFCH setting are depicted with a aqua blue (29 counties). Counties with the largest share of children enrolled in a licensed child care center are depicted with a navy blue (19 counties). Counties with the largest share of children enrolled in a family, friend, or neighbor setting are depicted with a lime green (10 counties).
