WA policy fails to stop gas prices doubling in five years ($/GJ)

After prices dropped from 2016 to lows in about 2019, the wholesale price to purchase gas in Western Australia has risen every year to 2025 - the latest data available. Now, buyers are paying an average of about seven Australian dollars a gigajoule.

WA Dept of Mining, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE) combines published prices from Woodside and Santos with data from royalty collections, mainly the North West Shelf. Other suppliers do not disclose their prices. 2025 price from DMPE not yet available.
