UAB football hasn't faced a P4 foe this early in 15 years

After opening against FCS opponents for 9 consecutive seasons, UAB kicks off the 2026 campaign against Illinois, marking the Blazers' first season opener against a P4 opponent since they lost to Florida in 2011.
