Pay for all NHS hospital staff remains around 6% below 2009 levels, compared with a 3% rise in the wider economy. Consultants and resident doctors have experienced the steepest declines, down around 19% and 15% respectively, while nurses and ambulance staff also remain well below 2009 pay levels.
