The U.S. Census bureau's estimates of housing vacancies in Belleville increased between 2010 and 2016. Rental properties increased from 7.4 percent vacant to 8.5 percent vacant during that time. The big boost was in vacant houses, with the rate more than doubling from 2.4 percent to 5.4 percent.
