Cooler than average winter months held St. Louis' annual temperature down in 2025

The National Weather Service reports monthly departures from normal temperatures, which show if a month was cooler or warmer than usual. Overall, St. Louis experienced its 14th warmest year on record in 2025, which was relatively cooler than recent years. One reason is that January, February and December were much colder in 2025 than in previous years. In 2024, February was more than 10 degrees above normal.
