Young people, transgender people and women have highest rates of anxiety and/or depression in U.S.

Shown is the percentage of survey respondents reporting symptoms consistent with major anxiety and/or depressive disorder.

Results are averaged from U.S. Census Household Pulse Surveys conducted between March 2022 and April 2023. Approximated margins of error for the data pooled over six months range from less than +/-1 percentage point for largest groups sampled (males and females of all ages) to +/-9 percentage points among smallest groups sampled (transgender people in older age groups).
