Underperforming community colleges will be hit the hardest when cost-of-living increases end this year

These amounts are the annual additional cost-of-living funds from the state on top of what districts earned from the state funding formula. The cost-of-living increase ends June 30, 2025. Five of the affected districts are in the San Francisco Bay Area. Two districts outside the region will also be affected.

The districts are San Francisco, Chabot-Las Positas, Ohlone, Foothill-DeAnza, Peralta, Cabrillo and Santa Monica. San Francisco has the largest extra amount at $22.3 million, which is 13.5% of its general funding.
