Colorado's population is projected to reach nearly 5.8 million this year, after adding 75,700 new residents. Growth slowed in 2019 to 1.4% and is expected to slow to 1.3% in 2020. The slowdown is attributed to slowing birth rates, an aging population and slower labor force growth.
