Almost 1.7 million NC voters have cast an early vote in person or by mail through Nov. 1. That's 24% of all registered voters. Democrats have cast 43% of the votes; Republicans, 30%; Unaffiliated, 27%. As a percentage of party registration, there's a little difference: Democrats, 27%; Republicans, 24%; Unaffiliated, 20%. The majority of counties have seen increased turnout from 2014's mid-term.
