Net Migration To Australia By Party - 1983 to 2024

This graph represents the net overseas migration to Australia broken into political parties (Labor and Coalition) from 1983 to July 2024. Notable in the figures is the lower than average Coalition figure from 2013-2022. This is the result of a net loss in migration to Australia during the Covid-19 pandemic, which began in 2020. Australia's borders were re-opened in February 2022, just prior to the election of the Albanese-Labor Government.
