Concern about climate change in ASEAN is shifting from urgency to vigilance

Public concern about climate change remains high across Southeast Asia, but its framing is shifting, according to the Southeast Asia Climate Outlook survey reports. From 2021 to 2024, fewer people describe climate change as a serious, immediate threat; more now see it as a critical issue requiring monitoring. Higher urgency is recorded in the Philippines and Vietnam, and greater skepticism in other parts of the region Asia even as outright denial remains limited.
