Having women's representation in government is important for ensuring that national policies and legislation are developed in a gender-responsive way. In the LMCs, progress varies significantly, from Thailand where we see an overall regression, to Cambodia's overall more than 10% increase. Yet all the countries remain far from having equal gender representation in government. Myanmar data is available only for 2018.
