White people got more than their share of tax cuts in NC; most people of color got less

Chart shows that while white North Carolinians made up roughly two-thirds of the tax returns in 2023, they received almost three-quarters of the tax cuts resulting from rate and standard deduction changes since 2013. On the other hand, both Black and Hispanic taxpayers received less than their proportional share of personal income tax cuts.
