Atlanta poverty rates by race

Affordable housing is a particular issue in Atlanta, where nearly 2 in every 10 people live in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau estimates. That number is even higher for Black Atlantans — around 28.5% live below the poverty line compared to just 7.5% of white Atlantans.
