Marriage Officiant Registration, April 2023 to October 2025
More than 20,000 people registered as marriage officiants since New York City opened its one-day licensing process in April 2023. One-third registered as one-day officiants.
A donut chart is divided in two segments. The smaller portion, representing one-day officiants, is colored purple and comprises just over one-quarter of all marriage officiants. The larger half, representing long-term officiants, is colored blue and comprises roughly three-quarters of the officiants.
