Time spent in ORR custody has skyrocketed for unaccompanied minors

The number of days spent in Office of Refugee Resettlement custody more than tripled from December 2024 to May 2026. President Donald Trump took office in January 2025.

Note: "In care" refers to the average length of stay for children who remain in ORR custody as of the last day of each month. "Discharged" refers to the average length of stay for children who were released from ORR custody.
