Visitors more interested in presidents than the enslaved

At three presidential historic sites – Monticello, Montpelier and Mount Vernon – visitors were asked about their levels of interest in two categories of information presented on tours and in exhibits. More of them were interested in learning about the president whose home it had been than about the enslaved people who had lived and worked there.
