Note: The 2018-19 year (1 July–30 June) was the last full year of RSE recruitment before the advent of COVID-19 and closure of the border in March 2020 which disrupted RSE arrivals. In 2018-19, the RSE annual cap was set at 12,850. In October 2019 the cap was increased by 1,550 to 14,400, and remains the same for the 2021-22 year. The 2019-20 data, to 19 March 2020 when the border closed, shows approved monthly increases in RSE numbers granted under the higher 14,400 cap.
