Overtime pay in Miami-Dade County government in '24

Miami-Dade County paid out more than $350 million in overtime in 2024. That represents about 13 cents of every dollar paid in a total payroll of $2.9 billion. Overtime is costly for Miami-Dade and other employers because it typically amounts to 150% of an employee's regular hourly wage.
