Behavioral health a factor for 44% people seriously injured by Bakersfield police
From 2014 to 2019, mental health or substance abuse was a factor in the lives of more than 44% of people seriously injured or killed by the Bakersfield Police Department.
7 people seriously injured had mental health issues, 27 people seriously injured had substance abuse issues, 10 people had mental health and substance abuse issues, and 55 people did not.
