A grouped bar chart showing the highest level of education attained by the immigrant population aged 25 to 59 in the fourth quarter of 2024. One-fifth of African immigrants aged 25 to 59 did not complete primary education (21% of Moroccans and 19% of Sub-Saharans). Nine per cent of Moroccans and six per cent of Sub-Saharans are illiterate. At the other end of the scale, only 10 per cent of African immigrants hold a university degree, a much lower percentage than that of Asian and Latin American immigrants. Overall, no other immigrant group shows such low educational outcomes. The main difference between the educational levels of Moroccans and Sub-Saharans is the higher proportion of individuals with non-compulsory secondary education among Moroccans.
