More than 90 percent of the female respondents in each of our surveys (2014 and 2017) said they believed that their relationship with key leaders within their organization, job performance and reputation within the company were the most important factors when it came time for seeking a promotion. However, women in 2017 are more likely than in 2014 to see personality traits as influencing their chances of getting promoted. Other responses are highlighted below.
