Where Fathers Spend the Most Time on Child Care

States are ranked by the number of average daily minutes spent by fathers on child care activities. Also shown is the percentage difference between time spent on child care activities by fathers and mothers in each state (negative values indicate less time spent by fathers than mothers, positive values indicate more).

Time spent on child care is measured by average daily minutes. For purposes of this study, "father" refers to a self-reported male with at least one of their own children resident in their household; "mother," refers to a self-reported female with at least one of their own children resident in their household. "Own children" refers to biological, adopted and stepchildren.
