Potential lives saved with state mask mandates in 2020

Economists from the International Monetary Fund created a model to estimate how many potential lives would have been saved if statewide mask mandates had been in place for most of 2020. Below is a state-by-state map of their data, with per-capita rates per 100,000 residents. Arizona, Georgia and Florida are in the top five, with Missouri at No. 7.
