Utility donations to GOPAC have risen sharply since 2018

Utility companies and trade associations have given GOPAC’s 527 group a record $1.08 million so far in 2026, surpassing 2025’s $940,000. The number of utilities and trade associations giving rose from about two or three a year between 2004 and 2018 to 11 in 2025.

2026 data is partial; data updated through Q3 2026. Amounts are annual aggregates; multiple contributions from the same company in a year are summed. Subsidiary donations are rolled up to the parent company where applicable.
