Iowa’s electricity production, in million MWh

NextEra Energy’s Duane Arnold Energy Center, Iowa’s only nuclear facility, supplied an average of 10% to the state’s power mix between 1990 and 2020. During that time, wind energy scaled, eventually reaching a record share of 65% by 2024.
