If approved, Proposition 114 would direct Colorado wildlife officials to develop and carry out a plan to reintroduce gray wolves in certain areas on the Western Slope. After obtaining input from scientists and stakeholders through a series of public hearings, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission would be required to take the “necessary steps” for reintroduction by the end of 2023. The measure would also require the state to pay compensation to livestock owners for any losses caused by wolf predation.
