Women in their 20s make up the majority who have received abortions in N.J.

Over half of abortions went to women in their 20s. Just 3% of all abortions went to teenagers under the age of 18. Unlike states with more restrictive laws, New Jersey does not require parental consent or notification for minors.

Chart based on 2019 data, the most recently available data published by the Center For Disease Control and Prevention. New Jersey does not have a requirement for centralized reporting by abortion providers, which could affect the representativeness of the data, the CDC says.
