Data based on analysis of 1.9 million used-car sales from the 2016 to 2020 model years in August 2020 and August 2021 in the 50 largest U.S. metro areas. Excluded were heavy-duty and low-volume vehicles, models discontinued in the 2021 model year, and models produced in fewer than four years of the five-year range.
