About 6 in 10 say police are more likely to use deadly force against black people

A new AP-NORC poll finds a majority of Americans say that police are more likely to use deadly force against a black person than a white person. That’s up from about half who said the same in 2015, a shift driven by a change in opinion by white adults.

Results based on interviews with 1,310 U.S. adults conducted June 11–15. The margin of error is ±3.7 percentage points for the full sample.
