Capacity of SFUSD Elementary Schools After Proposed Closures Compared to Current and Projected Need

Enrollment is TK-5 enrollment in 2024 across all elementary and K-8 schools. Desired Spare Capacity is the additional capacity required to have the buildings be only 90% full (SFUSD's stated target is 90%-95% building utilization). Unneeded Capacity is the capacity that would remain even if all the proposed school closures/mergers are implemented. Capacity to be Closed is the TK-5 program capacity of the schools proposed to be closed. Disappeared is the additional capacity that we know exists (either because a school previously enrolled that number or because it has the classrooms to support that number) but which SFUSD has chosen not to include.
