Guidance on using AI in the legal field

As of Jan. 23, state bar associations or similar entities have issued formal guidance on the use of AI in at least 10 states and the District of Columbia, typically in the form of ethics opinions. Court systems in at least 11 states have adopted new policies or rules legal professionals must follow. In some states, an expert or research group issued general guidance.
