Demand continues to grow ahead of a predicted shortfall in the fuel
Over the past decade, as gas demand in Western Australia has slowly risen, to about 1100 terajoules a day in 2024, the sources of that supply have changed dramatically. The once dominant North West Shelf plant is becoming a minor player with the slack taken up by twe new Chevron projects, Gorgon and Wheatstone.
