Wildfire near Tryon, N.C.

A downed power line on U.S. Highway 176 in Tryon, N.C. sparked a wildfire March 1 that ultimately burned around 600 acres before being contained. It was one of a spate of wildfires across the southeast, which is in the midst of a busier-than-usual spring fire season due to dry and windy conditions.
