2018 Businessweek Student Survey: Skills Being Applicable to the Real World

Theory is great. Question is, how can you use it to build an organization or culture…let alone monetize an idea? In terms of practical application, IMD tops all comers. The program is legendary for its take-no-prisoners curriculum. As the saying goes, you can study, sleep, and network at IMD…just not all three. Despite – or thanks to – the heavy readings and project workloads, IMD graduates believe they graduate better able to handle real world demands than any other. This is also a category where some of this year’s surprise schools thrived. The University of Wisconsin, for example, earned higher marks here than nearby juggernauts like Chicago Booth and Northwestern Kellogg. True to form, USC Marshall ranked among the three-best. As always, Cornell Johnson, ESADE, and BYU Marriott ranked among the very best in perhaps the most important dimension of all.
