In 2020, North Dakota, the District of Columbia and Connecticut had the most emergency medical services personnel per 10,000 people. North Dakota had 69.55 EMS personnel per 10,000 people, the ratio in the nation.

Georgia, South Carolina and Mississippi had the least EMS personnel per 10,00 people. Mississippi, with 11.54 per 10,000 people, had the fewest EMS personnel per person.

Maryland had 33.73 EMS personnel per 10,000 people in 2020, while the District of Columbia had 66.45 EMS personnel per 10,000 people.
