The percentage change in number of applicants to residency programs in each state for the 2023-24 season, from the previous year. The states are color-coded according to abortion-access status: Red = All abortions banned; Orange = Gestational limits on abortions; Green = No abortion ban. (Medical school graduates commonly apply to programs in more than one state.)
