The number of fatal shooting victims was up roughly 13% compared to 2016 and up 63% compared to 2019, pre-pandemic. Shooting victimizations are up 5% from 2016 and 67% compared to 2019. Multi-victim shooting incidents – any shooting incident where more than one person is the victim of a gunshot injury – also ended at a six-year high.
