Change in average house price, March to July 2021

*Figures have been seasonally adjusted by CREA. Canada's average price fell from $707,026 to $669,216, a decline of more than five per cent. That's possible despite only one province (New Brunswick) having a larger decrease because of a mathematical phenomenon known as Simpson's Paradox and is mostly due to a slowdown in the volume of sales in the pricey markets of Ontario and B.C., even if those provincial averages didn't drop by as much.
