How far along are N.J. women during their abortions?

Most abortions in New Jersey happen by the ninth week of gestation, about two thirds of the way through the first trimester. New Jersey does not limit abortion after a set number of weeks, unlike other states, some of which ban the procedure after as early as six weeks.

Chart based on 2019 data, the most recently available data published by the Center For Disease Control and Prevention. New Jersey does not have a requirement for centralized reporting by abortion providers, which could affect the representativeness of the data, the CDC says.
