The Crawford Power Generating Station was one of the biggest plants serving Chicago from its Southwest Side location through most of the 20th century, but environmental concerns led to its shutdown in 2012. Now a Hilco Global plan would build a 1 million-square-foot warehouse there that’s leased to retailer Target.
