Impact of moving house, de facto relationships and age

This chart shows how much the two-party-preferred (2PP) vote differs between an ‘average’ electorate and electorates with either a high proportion of people who have recently moved house (mobility), high proportion of people who live in de facto relationships, or a higher median age.

The figures indicate impact on Coalition’s 2PP vote (%).

Household mobility refers to people that have recently (in the past five years) moved house.

The analysis looks at more than 30 different socio-demographic characteristics from the Census. The ‘average’ electorate is constructed using the average value (either mean or median, across all electorates) for each of these.
