COVID-19 deaths reported per week on Vancouver Island (Island Health region) in 2022

NOTE: When a person dies their death is attributed to the individual's health authority of residence. This means the deaths shown were all residents within the Island Health region and not individuals who were transferred from other regions. Data is based on the B.C. government's statements and reflects the date that death was reported publicly, not the date the death actually occurred.

NOTES: Deaths are reported out by the B.C. government (BCCDC) Monday to Friday each week except on some statutory holidays. B.C. did not report out death totals on Jan. 3. GEOGRAPHICAL NOTE: Vancouver Island refers to the Island Health region, which covers includes the Gulf Islands, Alert Bay, Sointula, and a handful of other nearby islands. TOTAL REPORTED DEATHS IN 2020 & 2021 = 143 (2020 = 11 & 2021 = 132)
