Enbridge's Line 5 has two key points of controversy

The pipeline, which runs from Superior, Wisconsin, to Marysville, Michigan, passes through the Bad River Reservation, a Native American reservation. The pipeline also crosses the Straits of Mackinac, a narrow waterway linking Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, that is both a major shipping lane and a sensitive environment.
