China's new Northern Sea route through the Arctic

China is launching seasonal container services from eastern China to Europe via the Northern Sea route, which passes through the Bering Strait and along Russia’s Arctic coast. Transits from China to the UK could take 18–21 days, versus more than 40 days via Suez.
