The Re:Russia database is somewhat broader in terms of the criteria used than the Cedar database. In addition to federal ministers and their deputies (as well as heads of federal services and their deputies), governors, deputy governors, heads of regional governments and their deputies, regional ministers and their deputies, and heads of regional offices of federal authorities and their deputies, we included State Duma deputies and senators, heads of regional legislative assemblies and their deputies, regional prosecutors, and mayors of medium-sized and large cities (with populations of more than 75,000).
At present, the Re:Russia database contains 342 individuals from these groups who have been subject to criminal proceedings between the beginning of 2021 and August 2026. Cases may have been opened either against officials while they were in office or after they had left office; in the latter case, they are also included in the database.
