Daily charges declining in New Mexico's new militarized border zone

Below are all the charges brought each non-holiday weekday since early May, when federal prosecutors first began filing misdemeanor charges for unauthorized entry into New Mexico's National Defense Area, a new military base created through a transfer of federal public lands to the army.

So far, 570 people have been charged with misdemeanors, though a judge has dismissed more than 100 of them, and confusion over boundaries led the United States Attorney's Office to dismiss a few more.
