Districts with the same prior achievement level can have very different growth scores

Although there is a clear relationship between the Distance from Standard (DFS) in 2024 and the ELA growth score in 2025, the examples of Compton and Los Angeles or Hayward and West Contra Costa show that districts with similar prior achievement levels can have very different growth scores.

Shows all districts with at least 4,000 students with growth scores. DFS measures how much above or below the standard the average student was in 2024. It was calculated based on SBAC scores in grades 3-7.
